On 10 January 2026, the Global Relations Division, in collaboration with the International Student Club, MFU Human Rights Club, the Myanmar Student's Association, and Mae Fah Luang University Model United Nations (MFU MUN), hosted a series of activities in celebration of the Children’s Day at MaeKok Foundation and the Myanmar community at Wat San Pa Ko (Wat Thai Yai), Chiang Rai.
The programme brought together international and Thai students to organise interactive games and educational activities. Participants also distributed snacks, stationery, and dolls to local children, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and ensuring equal access to learning and recreational opportunities.
Through interactive activities such as the SDG Bingo Game, drawing activities, and storytelling sessions led by MFU students, children learned about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and environmental preservation. A particular focus was placed on water pollution, allowing the children to explore complex global issues in an accessible and enjoyable way.
Thailand’s Children Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of January. The occasion is a festive blend of fun, learning, and inspiration, aimed at recognising the potential of children. By organising activities for children in local communities, MFU students gained deeper insight into Chiang Rai’s societal context while developing essential soft skills, including empathy, teamwork, responsibility, critical-thinking, confidence, and emotional intelligence. At the same time, the activities helped nurture imagination, confidence, and a broader understanding of the world among children — the future changemakers.
