On 16 January 2026, the Global Relations Division, in collaboration with the International Students Club, organised the “New International Students Orientation” for international students enrolling in the second semester of Academic Year 2025. This semester, Mae Fah Luang University welcomed over 60 new international students from China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, and the Philippines.
The programme was designed to support students’ transition into university life. The orientation featured knowledge-sharing sessions on immigration rules and regulations, insurance information, exchange and scholarship opportunities, as well as a wide range of academic and student support services available at MFU. The programme also included cultural performances and fun game activities, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
In addition, the event brought together senior international students as well as representatives from various Schools and divisions, providing opportunities for information sharing and interaction. This collaborative approach helped new students feel informed, welcomed, and connected as they began their educational journey at the University.
In her welcoming address, Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Vice President of MFU, emphasised the university’s goal of cultivating global citizens who can live and work happily anywhere in the world while contributing meaningfully to society. The theme of the event was inspired by the concept of Zootopia, reflecting MFU’s value in promoting diversity and inclusivity. The University aims to provide a learning environment where students from diverse background can be themselves while respecting one another.
She further highlighted the importance of the three “As” for students’ success:
With these three principles, she noted, students will be able to live anywhere in the world, find happiness, and contribute positively to the global community.
The orientation programme reflects MFU’s ongoing commitment to serving as a driving force for change—not only within the Greater Mekong Subregion, but also on the global stage—by nurturing graduates with broad perspectives, strong values, and the readiness to contribute constructively to a more sustainable and equitable world.
