Call for Research Assistant/Intern for "Biochar Production from Agricultural Waste in Thailand" Project

Biotrasia, a consultancy firm specialising in biofuels and sustainability, with offices in Germany and the UK operating globally and collaborating closely with leading companies in the Big Oil industry is looking for a motivated student from Mae Fah Luang University to join as a research assistant or intern.

The selected candidate will be compensated for their assistance on the ground. Moreover, the right candidate will have the opportunity to continue working with Biotrasia on future projects.

Responsibilities:
The role will involve conducting research, data analysis, stakeholder consultations, and compiling findings into a comprehensive report under the guidance of project leaders.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, process engineering, or a related field, with a keen interest in sustainable agriculture and waste management.
  • Eager to learn about biochar production processes and its applications.
  • Possess strong research, analytical, and communication skills, including the ability to perform basic economic calculations to assess the feasibility of the biochar production process.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of researchers, local partners, and stakeholders
  • Strong English skills are essential. We require a candidate who is an excellent English speaker and writer, as effective communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement in English are critical components of this role

Available position: 1 Person 

Remuneration: 6,000 THB/month

Duration: 2 – 5 months (starting in the beginning of April 2024)

Location: Thailand (students will need to travel within Thailand for fieldwork and stakeholder meetings)
